One Year.

The one post that I cannot neglect to get in before all of the holiday excitement and soccer reports is a shout out to our one year old. Our sweet Harrison, Harry, Hare-Bear is the biggest joy we could imagine. He loves to play and jump right in there with his big brothers, but always, always turns around every few minutes with a huge smile to give Mom a hug before playing some more. He adores Alden, and thinks Spencer is hilarious but very accurately does not completely trust him since most of the time he is stealing his toys or yelling, "No!" at him.  He was born with the role of third child down to perfection: laid back and go with the flow but turn on a big voice and feisty attitude when you need to be heard. Harrison can't get enough of balls or dogs. His first words were simultaneously "doggie" and "eat" which he also loves to do with a passion. He has discovered sugar and can't get enough.  He loves fruit and cheese but is not too fond of bread or meat or, unfortunately, vegetables. Even though his vocabulary is limited to the aforementioned plus "uh-oh," "Mommy," "Daddy," "Aldy," "hey,""ball," and "cheese," we seem to always be able to tell what he wants or needs by following his little pointer finger and "ah, ah, ah!"sound.  Harrison loves us so much that he rarely wants to sleep through the night without waking us up for a visit, but when he does sleep, he prefers old school jazz standards to Mom's lullabies.  Music class with Mrs. Susie is the highlight of his week, and he almost always goes for the drums when it is time to pick an instrument, although most of the time in class he spends playing with the air conditioner unit. Speaking of toys, he isn't all that interested. He loves iPhones, remotes, taking things out of drawers, and drawing or coloring...basically anything he is not supposed to have in his possession. But don't think we can put them out of reach, this one is a climber and a very, good and fast one. Harrison is fastly becoming Harry about here because it seems to fit his bubbly, feisty, fabulous personality.  Last week, he was in his chair in the morning saying, "Hap-pe! Hap-pe!" That is the word that describes him. Happy.  That is what he makes us. Happy.  All four of us are madly in love and just trying to keep up with him.
